Day 25 - A Picture of Your Day

As everything is, it all depends on the "what" and "where". In my case, what I was/am doing or where I am.

Being a bum for a year already, I have spent some time rolling in bed. But you don't want a picture of that--I wouldn't even post it here anyway. hahahaha

So let's just make do with what I usually do during the course of a day.

When I was in school...
I rarely study. When I do, it's usually because I got a barely-made-it grade. That's usually in Filipino subjects. But most of the time, I doodle (especially with teachers as my subjects).
The only doodle ever saved digitally. Guess who? >8D

Origami...
That word says it all. I did Satoshi Kamiya's "Yellow Bird"(75 steps) quite a lot. I've been meaning to fold the "Red Dragon" (275 steps) but I can't seem to find the perfect paper. -_-
My mini Chocobo army. :D

Photoshoots...
We have been thinking of a concept for our next shoot but the it's taking us too long to finalize and find costumes for each of us. I don't know about them but I'm almost done with mine. wehehehe

Macro shots. Lola's cattleya

Partying with the whole family!
The best thing about any party is food and it won't be a family party without Lola's cooking. I don't have a picture of the food because I'm usually busy eating. D8>
During Lola's birthday 2010. We have a funny family. :))

Doing my sister's haircut...
She no longer goes to the salon because no one knows how to follow her hair specifications (there should be a term like this!). Roughly a decade ago, she wanted her long locks cut similar to Rihanna's hairstyle a couple of years ago. But no, "it'll look weird," the hairdresser said. They cut it too short in the front so it looked like that of a little boy. Ever since then, I've been cutting her hair. I never had any training in hairdressing but I do have one in sculpting. hahahaha
Her recent haircut. Soi Fon Style. >8D

Artsy Stuff...
Oil painting is my forte. Never liked watercoloring. I do a lot of crafting stuff. I learned how to knit just so I can make Chiaki's scarf. View my artworks here. :D

Playing with two very funny dogs...
We weren't suppose to keep any of Zero's puppies but here we are: Zero who gets excited when mom says the words "wink wink"--I don't know why but it doesn't have any effect on Zero when other people say it--and Aki who always want to sit on my lap.

Day 24 - A Picture of Something You Wish You Could Change

A portrait I did of my cousin for my thesis.

In this country, people think that being "environmentally-aware" is only for those that belong in the upper-middle class or the upper class citizens. That is the mentality of our people: something goes wrong, blame it on the government.

I can't say that the government is totally blameless either. They should hold more awareness campaign regarding responsible trash disposal, and particularly the dangers of smoking.

Smoking. Our tiny store does not sell any cigarettes so people regularly asks us "why?". Just that single word tells a whole lot about people's ignorance of its effects on themselves as well as those around them.

Littering. An excuse commonly used by those who litter is that "there's no trash can". If there's really no where you can dispose of your garbage properly, put it in your pocket. If it's too big for your pocket, you can put it in your bag or you can just carry it around until you find a trash can. There's a mall here in Cebu that doesn't have any trash can every few meters so my sister and I had to walk from the annex to the main part of the building just so that we can throw whatever it is we were holding. And I can tell you that it wasn't a short walk. Again, in our store, my mother charges an additional 2php when children (that lacks common sense and over-all manners. I'm blaming it on the parents) wants their sodas poured in a plastic. One kid protested that he won't throw his plastic in front of the store but "there"--pointing at their area at the upper part of the street.

"Still," my mom retorted, "you're just going to throw that on the street."

"No, I won't", the kid said. "I'll throw it in the canal."

Makes you want to do a facepalm, eh?

Spitting. Why do people spit on the streets? Don't they know that that's one of the reason why diseases spread. They would have saved a lot on hospital bills if they just disciplined themselves better.

Awareness. Our family supports the "Earth hour" movement. As I've pointed out a couple of times in this entry, we have a store. It can easily be noticed that our store had it's lights off during the one hour duration of the event. Almost everyone that came to buy asks us why our lights were off. We patiently tell them that it's for the "Earth hour" campaign. Guess what? They gave us blank stares with an accompanying "what?"

All in all, I don't think that it is because of poverty that people are not conscious of the environment; it's because they refuse to care and be responsible because they are poor or that because it's the government's job. News flash for them, the government is not a super hero. We still have to do our share since we are a part of this country; what affects one, affects us all. Don't even get me started on people rallying to stop oil price hikes. gah!

So I want to change this picture. Instead of only one caring for the environment, I want everybody to join in.

I wish there was a ghost that haunts people who litter and smoke. >8D

Day 23 - A Picture of Your favorite Book

Pride and Prejudice is my ultimate favorite book but that's old news. My newest fave is a book series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. It's a somewhat unofficial prequel of the Peter Pan story by J. M. Barrie.

Starcatchers is an interesting enough set and introduced characters like the Mollusk people, the original Lost Boys, Ammm and the dreadful Ombra. The story adds new ideas to the original one. Not to mention that it's illustrated. hehe.

The Blood Tide book follows the story of the Lost Boys and two children from the Mollusk Tribe while Peter was away on Starcatcher business in London.

The Starcatcher series has a final book in the making: The Bridge to Neverland. I can't wait for that book to be published. :D

Day 22 - A Picture of Something You Wish You Were Better At

Jym's violin

You can't say you want to get better at something you never tried before but let's just pretend that I did the first step. And no, I don't mean playing the violin exclusively--but it's one of my dreams to play one--it's music in general. Unlike some preparatory schools, the one I was in didn't really teach music as one of the subjects. If you wanted to learn, you have to be in the Drum and Bugle Corps. I once briefly played a tom-tom drum when our scouting unit did a short presentation for a DBC competition. Other than that, zilch.

I always say that some people are quite lucky to have had lessons. I was not as lucky. I never learned to fully understand notes on music sheets and often wondered how each finger combination equates to specific parts of the score.

Like some other things in my life, music remains among those that's hard to reach, either by laziness or by lack of resources. *sigh*

Day 21 - A Picture of Something You Wish You Could Forget

First year, first semester. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

This subject was one of my favorites that time, next to algebra, until it started letting you do activities that involves going in front and/or holding a microphone.

It began with a simple product commercial that you have to do yourself. Mine was for a soda that replenishes lost creative juices. Juice Up: it's not a juice, it's a soda. Pretty lame, I know. Anyway, those simple enough assignments turned longer. It evolved into doing your own radio segment as a deejay. Inevitably, it proceeded to being a veejay. I have to give credits to Final Fantasy for the music played for both of those "gigs".

I really thought that was it until our teacher announced that we'll be singing a full song in front of class for our Finals. Gah! I don't like to sing, especially in front of everybody.

When the day came, we found out that we were not only going to sing in front, we're going to do it with a microphone... and two speakers behind us.

The only tape I was able to borrow was by Carol Banawa. I sang--or rather, tried to sing--the song "Stay". For those who know how that song goes, it has a lot of high notes. Certainly not fit for a newbie like me. In the end, I did sing and left forever scarred.

I immediately buried that memory but it pops out like a zombie once in a while. Most frequently during my Literature classes a few years afterwards. I usually end up skipping class on days with singing or anything involved with the front part of the classroom.

Day 20 - A Picture of Somewhere You'd Love to Travel

A shot of Camiguin Island from White Island

I would like to travel (back) to Camiguin. It's a 12-hour boat trip from Cebu but I'll do it again just so I can ride that pump boat skimming on high waves and bask under the sun at White Island with my friends. I'll brave three things I usually run away from: motion-sickness from very VERY long trips, sun and sea water. I would want to be able to climb the stations of the cross running by the main island's volcano since we weren't able to do it the first time.

Day 19 - A Picture of a Letter

This picture is a recreation of a letter I gave to someone special. Not one for the conventional, I wrote my confession among the stars. *wink*

This is what I wrote--not inside the 'letter'--about the secret of my supposed gift to that someone:

a single crane for a thousand
another one for a thousand more

a thread that binds our names together
to let you know that i want fate to let us be paired

one dream for you
another holds a confession

I like riddles, don't you? >:D

Day 18 - A Picture of Your Biggest Insecurity

My handle on the English Language is one of my biggest insecurity. Even writing this blog--which can be read by a lot of people--is a huge step.

Note: I am NOT fishing for compliments so please don't say anything like "you're good at it" or "it's perfect". Please don't. It is called an insecurity because I am not confident with it and I know that it stems from that tiny part of me that just can't accept anything that's not perfect. It will always be there no matter how hard anyone would try to cheer me up. It will only be up to me to suppress that lack of confidence. No one else.

Thanks anyway.
:)

Day 17 - A Picture of Something That Has Made a Huge Impact on Your Life Recently

March 2010. Graduated from FA-Painting with five other classmates. Our population results from the sparse number of students that enroll in this particular college course. We're a minority in our Department and, as I have come to realize after finishing school, it's also the same as in the "real world".

Welcome to the world of the unemployed. A diploma is not a ticket to a bright future but is only an expensive piece of paper that may help you. In today's time, skill is all you need. Employers looking for artists often go for someone who has the ability rather than the degree.

If I had known that, I would just have spent all those years--and tuition fees--on digital equipments and just studied on my own. -_-

Day 16 - A Picture of Someone Who Inspires You

I don't know!!! Oh my~

I really haven't thought about it before this assignment so I spent almost the entire day thinking about it but still, no one comes to mind.

A living zombie is what I am. An oxymoron: something totally contradicting existing in a single being. So where do I get that spark when I do those artwork? It does not come to me in any physical vessel, that's for sure.

It's like one of those light bulb moments when you just hear this imaginary click and you have this inexhaustible drive for the entire day.

So who inspires me? It's an invisible formless energy that comes to me when it feels like it. -__-

The World is Full of Hate-Worthy People But It's Still Awesome

My day didn't start well. As I said earlier, "it feels like a rug being pulled from under me. I was anticipating it but I still wasn't able to brace myself from the fall."

That "fall" started the previous night but I was too elated to notice that the reason why I was on cloud nine was because "the rug" had already been pulled from underneath me. I never felt the descent, only the hurt when I hit the ground.

A few hours ago, one of my friends got harassed by one of her haters. That guy started uttering inappropriate things especially towards the fact that my friend was a girl. When you're female and better than them, they feel the need to hate.

Petty thieves, personal-space invaders, people who abuse authority. Our world is full of them. The worst are those who call themselves professionals but does not seem to know its meaning or the certain set of manners--personally, I call it common sense--to be followed when donning that title. When you tell people to find you, it's expected that they will and you should not go running off towards the other direction pretending to be deaf or blind. A simple "I'm sorry" would have sufficed. Do not leave them hanging. They might have things much more important to do than waiting for you to finally tell them why you needed them to reach you.

Geezzz..

What those kinds of people do might have infuriated me but I have friends I can pour out some of the hurt to. That's what makes the world bearable. That's what make my friends awesome... to infinity plus one!

Day 15 - A Picture of Something You Want To Do Before You Die

I want to try Laser Tag wearing a suit. Barney Stinson makes it look fun and easy. I saw in the news that there's one Laser Tag facility somewhere in Manila. I should go there... with lots of friends in suits. I can just imagine the people's faces. ohohohoho

Day 14 - A Picture of Someone You Could Never Imagine Your Life Without

I could not live without the ones dear to me: friends and, most especially, my family from my mother's side. I have this fear--aside from the squid one--that they will die ahead of me. I am very dependent. I do not like being abandoned... permanently. I would rather want to die before anyone of them could.

I've been accompanying my grandparents to their friends' funerals for the past few years and I could not imagine myself in their place. My grandfather buried his two younger brothers. I know that he was forcing a smile but the sadness is clear.

The picture was taken in Argao last October 25, Lola's birthday and, coincidentally, the barangay elections. Not anyone was able to participate in this impromptu picture-taking because they were either asleep or were at the nearby beach. Guess where I am~

Day 13 - A Picture of Your Favorite Band or Artist

I never preferred any band until my brother discovered The Black Mages. They combined my two favorite things: Final Fantasy and instrumental music. I was already familiar to FF music when I was introduced to the band's versions of the songs. Instrumental Rock. How cool is that? Even cooler is the fact that the band members are already middle-aged. You don't see a lot like them these days.

My favorite track is "Vamo' Alla Flamenco". It reminds me of the hours I spent digging for treasures in Chocobo's Forests. It makes me want to nod my head up and down just like a Chocobo!

Day 12 - A Picture of Something You Love

The Cebu Eastern College Pugadlawin Scouting Unit.

I entered the unit when I was a freshman in high school through the persuasion of my cousin who was an officer in her time. So, I joined since it also meant that I can be exempted from PE classes. I didn't take it really seriously even when I reached my second year. I hardly ever attended the regular meetings on Saturdays but I do join the hikes.

When I reached my third year, my sister was in her first year in high school so I bribed her in joining the unit. I then became the Patrol Leader then my sister became my assistant. At that point, I regretted having been absent during my two years in the unit.

Our school's scouting unit is not like those of the public schools here in the Philippines. I remember that our Type A uniform then was made from a very thick blue cotton cloth. We would roll up a yellow beret(yellow is the color for the member rank) and tuck it under a strap on one shoulder and a yellow braided cord would be on the other shoulder. Senior officers would then check if our cords has a whistle attached to it.

Just like our uniforms, the way the unit is run is different. Boys and Girls are trained together. That's why I never earned a single badge for my girl scouting (if girls could apply for the boy's badges, then I'm confident that I could have earned some). Girls in our unit are not taught how to sew different stitches or any of those girly stuffs written in their manuals. Instead, we were taught how to tie the eight basic knots, the special knots, how to build a two-story tower using bamboo poles (and make us climb it after we're done), how to build a fire using friction, Morse code, the sixteen points of a compass and, one time, how to use a trans-receiver.

We were taught discipline which meant that we are not allowed to talk or even wipe any sweat from our face when in the 'Parade Rest' position.

I was (in my third year) a part of the newly-formed Lion and Dragon Dance Troupe. We performed at different venues and get cash in return. I was a rich girl then. haha

I graduated high school with the rank of Girl Guide Skills in the unit. GG Skills requires that you are knowledgeable in different areas of the skills taught in scouting, hence the name.

I still returned to the unit once in a while when I was already in college (I even spent one of my summer vacations training future officers, single-handedly, gah!).

If only I have known that the University of Cebu offered a Rover scout course, I would have gladly cross-enrolled.

All that I'm left now is the memory and friends I gained during my brief stay in the unit.

Day 11 - A Picture of something You Hate

A person becomes a thing to me once they start bragging. My ears will start to tingle and I completely shut down to deflect any more mention of their material possessions (its amount and where it was bought). We don't need the details--shhessshh--as it is irrelevant to anything that's being discussed.

They're like little kids with a new toy. They walk towards another kid and plays in front of them. That's just like saying "I have a new toy and you will never have one like this. Wanna play? Oh wait, you don't have one. *gloats*".

Seriously, some of us don't care so quit enumerating those other stuff when I was just asking how you took that (awful) picture.

note: the situation depicted in the picture and in the previous paragraph is fictional.

Day 10 - A Picture of the Person You Do the Oddest Things With

I won't stop with just "a picture", I'll go ahead and post a couple more with links to videos.

The Violet Agency is a group my sister and some of her college friends formed. I became part of the group by association.
I don't go crazy in public but they do enough of that for all of us. hahahaha.

They've raided our house a couple of times, especially during birthdays...

They do crazy stuffs even in crowded places like the malls...

Even in one of the art exhibit I participated in...

Some of them skipped their classes so that they could come with me on my photography class's two-day Camiguin trip...
I think that was the craziest.

Aside from the usual food trips, we also do photoshoots and videos.

Here are two of the videos the Violet Agency made:

Day 09 - A Picture of the Person who has gotten You through the most

from top-bottom: Jasmin, Elena, Prescil

They may be three separate people but they are collectively called my best friends. Being the best friend that I am, I don't have any other nice pictures I can post here. *sarcasm*

The typical answer would be 'my family' but I can't tell MY family everything, 'ya know. What's nice about having best friends like them is that you are not afraid of being judged by them because you know that they won't.

I've made a little artwork with them in mind.

The text reads:

She tells me I'm the best when I feel like I'm at my worst
Loves me even at times when I hated myself
She cries for me when I no longer could
Gets lost with me and find the way together
She knows me more than I do myself
Tells me, "we'll see each other soon" instead of goodbye
She makes us feel like we're so much alike even though we're complete opposites
Doesn't see me as I am, but way past that
She believes in me
Reads this message and says that she could cry of happiness
For us, distance is not a problem.
Silence means nothing
The nest time we meet, it'll be as if we never parted

Day 08 - A Picture that makes you Laugh

This picture was taken last night when Aki was in one of her I'm-a-human-being moments. This time, she has a pillow and a blanket. When she was still a puppy and could still fit inside a bucket of water, she thinks she's inside a bath tub.

Sunday, March 13, 2011

Day 07 - A Picture of Your Childhood Crush

Jareth tops the list. I'm cheating since he's not actually what I can consider a "crush". It's more like I admire JARETH, not BOWIE. I listen to about five of his songs but that's about it.

Jareth is cool. It's gotta be the hair. The almost-there mullet is pretty awesome especially when you're just 10(?) in a time when Japanese animation hit the local channels.

I think it was a Sunday when I saw the Labyrinth although it was almost at the end. I didn't even get to finish it since I still have chores then. I only got to see the movie again a few years ago. And I can really say that GOBLIN KING RULES!!

What I still can't understand is how people linked Sarah and Jareth. Just because he started singing about "falling.. falling in love~" doesn't mean that he is. Maybe it was just a ploy to use Sarah's girly side so he can get rid of her and take Toby without anymore interference. BWAHAHAHAHA

Still, I could be wrong.

Anyways, Jareth became one of the reasons why I started doing costumes--sometimes actually cosplaying. Another reason is Sailormoon. hehehe

Day 06 - A Picture of a Person You'd Love to Trade places with for a day

It'll probably Sawako from Kimi ni Todoke. She's this girl that everybody is afraid of because of those rumors that if you stare directly into her eyes for more than three seconds, something bad will happen to you.

I chose her probably because I see myself in her. We are known for our long hair(although mine is much longer), people get intimidated/scared of us because of how we look and we're painfully shy.

So why would I want to be someone who's just like me when the point should have been to be someone totally different?

If you've read both the manga and my blog(in its entirety), you'll know the difference: a beautiful love story where the heroine actually ends up with the guy.

I know a lot of people already gave the my-life-is-great-as-it-is excuse but I'll still say it.
My life is great as it is.

I have a family that supports me and friends that's always there to cheer me on. I just need that single thing. Like Sawako, we fell for the 'sunny' guy in our class. Unlike her, we didn't end up together.

If it's just for a day--another day--I would want to feel that tingle in the stomach, that feeling of warmth in my chest or the smile that spreads on my face when I see that someone turn that corner towards me, smiling.

Day 05 - A Picture of A Favorite Memory

This picture was taken in my third year of high school (2001 or 2002). This was my very first camping trip with the scouting unit and, at the same time, the first time I purposely disobeyed our father and even dragged my sister into it.

There was a lot of drama going on at our house when our father decided to revoke his permission of us going on this trip. My sister and I have been looking forward to this trip so we were quite distraught when the big NO was relayed through phone--our father was then working in Taiwan.

My hardheadedness kicked in and gave my sister her choice, "do you or do you not want to go?" She did and we proceeded packing our stuff with our mother's support. It's not like our father will fly back here just to stop us. He won't be back for a couple more months so he can give his sermon by then.

It was a two days, one night camp. We had a big campfire that night, parents visited us and someone donated burgers and canned sodas.

We stayed up the whole night chatting.

It was fun. It was worth it.

Day 04 - A Picture of Your Night

Staring at the computer. All night until the break of dawn. Stupid facebook. hahahaha

Anyway, that's Aki on the left and her mother, Zero, on the right. They keep me company with their tail wagging and the occasional nose-nudge to my ribs that roughly translates to,"hey, i gotta go poop/pee/both."
You can't tell from this picture (stupid camera flash) but the room's in semi-darkness because the only light that's turned on is the one in the kitchen. I like it that way --not to mention that it saves energy and, thus, our electric bill.

If I'm not being an internet zombie, I'm in our room reading, just recently, in complete darkness. MU HA HA HA HA. I'm joking. I have a book light--or rather, the torchlight of an unused cellphone.

If I'm not with the computer or a book, I'm usually sleeping due to a massive headache. It seems to inflict me at least once a week. I think it's because of my unhealthy lifestyle. I don't mean smoking and drinking. I don't do both.

That's it. I'm such a boring person. hahaha

Here's a picture of me AT night. >:D

Day 03 - A Picture of the Cast from Your Favorite Show

How I Met Your Mother

This is the series I'm currently looking forward to --next to Glee. It's now on its sixth season

It's the story of an architect, Ted Mosby, telling his kids, well, how he met their mother. There's also Marshall, Ted's best friend; Lily, Marshall's long-time girlfriend; Robin, a news anchor who's the latest addition to their group; and, who could ever forget, Barney Stinson.

I watch the show mainly to see Barney's antics. They're hilarious. Especially, the different ways he tries on girls just to hook up with them.

What I like about this show is that it lets you be an invisible part of their group. You'll know their background stories and  can confidently laugh at their inside jokes.

The next episode will be released on March 21, 2010. A very long wait for me. Gah! This is one series I'll be happy to suggest to anyone. ohohohoho

Whaddup~?

Blog post high-five!

Day 02 - A Picture of You and the Person You have been Closest with the Longest.

The person I have been with the longest is undeniably my sister: twenty-two years and counting. As she most often points out, she's the "more mature" one. yeah right. hahaha

For as long as I can remember, we always did things together even though we have almost opposite personalities. As the picture shows, she's the black, I'm the white; I'm the pacifist that would walk out of a conversation rather than argue about it, and she's the one who'd punch anyone who gets in her way --with the right reason, of course.

She is the leader, I am the adviser.

During the her last year in high school, she was in charge of the whole Boy/Girl Scouting unit in our school. She was the very first female to achieve that rank and although she hides that fact saying that she was just placed there just "for the sake" of having someone in control, all of us know that she deserved it. It was during a certain day during her reign(haha) that I went for a visit (I was in my second year of college) and she was having her weekly meeting with the other officers. Of course, as an alumnus of the scouting unit myself, I am entitled to my own obsevations of their activities that day. I quietly list them down and discussed it with my sister. During the meeting, I had her tell them my views (because I'm such a coward TT_TT). One officer pointed out as a joke that I was my sister's Grima Wormtongue. hahahaha

We graduated from college on the very same day last year. She has a job, I still don't. She earns the moolah and spends it on materials for our costumes and props --more recently, BRS-related Figmas-- and I, in turn, makes the said costume and props. It's a win-win situation, don't you think?

Some people often say that we act more like friends than sisters. For me, the two words hold the same meaning.

Day 01 - A Picture of Yourself and Ten Facts

Ten facts about me:
1. how much i like to eat squids is directly proportional to my fear of touching/cleaning a still uncooked one. One time, my mother asked me to clean out these squids so that she could cook them for dinner, I was crying the whole time because I don't want to touch it. it's only with squids though. I have no problem with beef, pork or fishes.

2. I sometimes have "weird" tendencies towards my food. According to others anyway. I dunk green mangoes in soy sauce and eat it with rice. I like ketchup on my siomai, along with its sauce, of course. Hey! that's only two.

3. Speaking of cooking, an ingredient I almost never fail to add is sugar. I like how my cooking tastes salty and sweet at the same time. :D

4. I'm insecure about myself even though I know how to do stuff better than others. That may explain my mediocrity.

5. Blue is my favorite color. The only other color of shirts I have is maroon, white, black and green. I hate green and I stay away from reds, oranges and yellows. that maroon shirt that was given to me almost a decade ago has only been worn a couple of times.

6. Books are my material best friends.

7. I am the eldest of three siblings. I wonder why they often assume I'm the little sister?

8. I studied Computer Science for two years before shifting to Fine Arts.

9. My thesis was about how external stimuli such as music and colors affect students. Basically, it's a lot of talk about neurotransmitters. ohohohoho

10. I'm agnostic. That doesn't mean that I don't have any moral standards. I believe that religion is there as a guide to people that needs, uh, moral guidance. So I don't get what's the big deal about going to church.

Thirty-Day Picture Challenge

One of my best friends, Jasmin Uy, posted this on her facebook account. For lack of interesting things to write on my blog, i decided to do it here. such is my uneventful life. i'll start doing this tomorrow. heh

The 30 Day Photo Challenge...

Day 01 - A Picture of Yourself and Ten Facts.

Chiaki - Shigofumi

my sister and i did a mini cosplay shoot last year. when i say 'mini', i mean head shots done in less than five minutes. no make up, just us and our costumes.

Chiaki is officially the very first character i'll be fully cosplaying. it's in the future tense since i haven't really finished making the entire costume. gotta make the staff and bag.

almost every part of the costume is handmade. i learned basic knitting for the scarf. i had to redo the pattern for the hat a couple of times before i got it right and had to carve the symbol from foam. the gloves i bought from the store had to be re-stitched so that it'll fit perfectly to my oh-so-small fingers.

when we got the wig, it was a couple of shades darker than Chiaki's so we were a bit worried. but i think it's quite passable in pictures. hehe

i'm looking forward to the day i actually finish this project. i made three skirts just to get the right effect. my sister's thinking that we should just have the double-breasted blazer tailored.

Zero, Golden Retriever

Zero, our very first dog, celebrated her second birthday last November 10. she had cake and yogurt. :)

yes, Zero is a 'she'.
 make a wish, Zero~

when my younger siblings announced that they wanted to a retriever for a pet, i wasn't very in to the idea. taking care of another living being is one big responsibility. not to mention that Retrievers are big dogs --well, medium if you want to get technical. our mother wasn't too eager either. they pushed through with that plan anyway.

by January of 2009, they brought home this small fluff ball.

i gave in. who wouldn't? it's so cute i wanted to squish it hard. -_-

then started our journey...
we took her on trips to Argao.

even on dog walks with our friends.
we dressed her up on some occasions.

the most memorable thing that zero gave us was when she had her puppies on June 25, 2010.

the biggest factor that contributed to this certain memory is the month-long sleeplessness. i for one, does not want to repeat this experience again. EVER.
it was tiring but i learned a lot during that time. did you know that newborn puppies can't produce their own heat?

the puppies are all grown up now and are with pet owners i'm hoping are responsible enough not to forget to feed them.

we managed to keep one puppy from Zero's litter. a very dominant girl we named Aki whose father's name is Summer. so it's some kind of inside joke for us. hahaha

 Aki

you don't want to mess with Aki. she was the only one that had the guts demand milk from Zero when she started weaning them.

Aki's not as behaved as Zero. the other day, we tried to Bieber-fy Zero we had no problem. when we tried posing Aki, she bit that idea off. so we only have Zero's take. haha
